Receiver-in-the-Canal (RIC)

RIC style hearing aids like the BTE devices also rest behind the ear. However, the sound receivers are placed within the canal.  The receiver is housed in a clear soft dome. The hearing aid body behind the ear contains the sound processing chip and Bluetooth technology that processes and transmits the sounds. The RIC style is the most sold globally according to independent research.
