Phonak Audeo Paradise Review

Featuring Audeo PR, the following video explains the features of the most popular hearing aid the PR in the Phonak Audeo range. Please note that each device in the range comes in four performance levels (P90, P70, P50, P30) and these levels determine the price of the hearing aid. Prices are available above in the table in full transparency.

Phonak Paradise Software Levels

The Phonak Audeo Paradise has three devices in the range that are rechargeable. These are the PR, PRT and P-L (Life). Each rechargeable device comes with a charging dock however you will have other options for charging cases available when you order the exact device with your Audiologist. You also have the choice of purchasing an additional power pack battery. this is a rechargeable battery pack that plugs into the base of the charger. By purchasing an additional powerpack it provides you with the ability to charge your hearing aids on the go without the need of returning to a wall socket. All Phonak Paradise hearing aids that are rechargeable are powered by the latest lithium batteries available on the market. The differences of each rechargeable option is explained below.

P-R

The Phonak Audeo P-R is the flagship device by Phonak and the most sold hearing aid amongst all hearing aids manufactured by the Phonak Brand. As Phonak and its manufacture, Sonova is the largest hearing aid brand and manufacture it could be argued that this is globally the most fitted hearing device and the most successful hearing aid on the market or at the very least in the top three across all brands globally.

P-RT

Comes with a telecoil within the device. This is a small coil of wire which allows you to access radio waves of communication produced by public service announcement systems. More commonly known as hearing loops. These systems are found in places like airports, churches, museums and educational precincts. Please note that the telecoil is a small coil of wire and this ultimately means it’s housed within the hearing aid. The outcome here worth considering is size as the telecoil increases the size of the hearing aid and for this reason, the PRT is the largest in the Phonak Audeo Paradise range.

P-L

The Phonak Audeo Paradise Life is due for release at the end of 2021 and EarDeals is currently adding interested wearers to a waiting list. Please contact our friendly brokers on 1300 010 064 if you wish to sign up for a free hearing aid trial. The Audeo Life is the first waterproof (Conditions apply) hearing aid produced by Phonak in the companies 70 year history. This device is highly anticipated particularly in regions of Australia where the natural elements can be harmful to hearing aid technology unless a consistent maintenance routine practices to take care of the hearing aids. The Audeo Life is Phonak hardiest hearing aid to date!

Within the Phonak Audeo Range is two options that have replaceable batteries. These two options and an explanation of their features are listed below. Replaceable batteries are zinc-air technology and depending on the size of the battery ultimately determines the size of the hearing aid and the length of time the battery will last. Replaceable battery options are the tried and true tested form of powering hearing aids however over the past year with vast improvements in rechargeable technology they are no longer the most prefered option in Australia according to our sales figures. They do however present some unique benifits that may suit your needs and these are listed below.

Audeo P-312

The smallest of the five Phonak Audeo Paradise options the P-312 has always been in the top 2 most requested hearing aids considered by first-time wearers. Battery life in the 312 is less than the alternative option the P-13T due to the size of the replaceable 312 battery being smaller than the size 13 battery. If you are after ultimate discretion with the powerful features of the Receiver-in-the-canal range by Phonak called Audeo then this device coupled with a colour that matches your hair or skin tone is the go-to option. Battery life is vastly determined by the amount of Bluetooth streaming you do for things such as listen to music or taking hands-free phone calls. Typically battery life with a moderate amount of streaming will have the replaceable batteries being changed every 3-5 days.

Audeo P-13T

The Audeo P-13T is one of the largest devices in the Audeo range and this is due in part to its larger replaceable battery being size 13 and the telecoil feature within the device. The benefit of the larger replaceable battery is battery life. The P-13T also comes with a telecoil. A telecoil is a small coil of wire that has the ability to transmit radio waves into audible sound through what is more formally known as a hearing loop. These types of public service announcement systems are found in places such as airports for flight announcements and educational institutions. The technology is still very much a staple in hearing aid technology due to its stability and the widely used loop system globally to help those with hearing loss hear public announcements.

What you pay for a Phonak Audeo depends on the level of technology you choose. The full range of devices has four price points. Once you have chosen the device you would like from the range (P-R, P-PRT, P-312,-P13T and P-L) you then need to decide on the level of technology. The four technology levels are P90 Premium, P70 Advanced, P50 Standard and P30 Essential. As you go higher in the range and higher in the price you are ultimately improving the functionality of the hearing aid and how it performs in places with background noise. The hearing aids higher in the range have more software features that are aimed at better filtering sound to ensure an improved listening experience. Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free phone calls and connection to tablets, laptops and TV’s comes as a standard feature across the full Phonak Audeo Paradise Range and is available on any device you choose.

The prices of each technology level are listed in the table above and correspond with the technology level you choose. The best way to decide on the right level of technology and subsequently price if you are unsure is to call our EarDeals brokers on 1300 010 064 and book a free comprehensive hearing test. The EarDeals university trained audiologist will then be able to assist you in matching the right technology level to your lifestyle, budget and of course hearing loss. Those with more active social or work lives that involve places or environments with more complex listening situations such as stadiums, concerts, cafes and restaurants or even busy offices usually rely on higher levels of technology and in the case of the Phonak Audeo Paradise range fall on the P90 Premium or P70 Advanced technology levels.
