Here at EarDeals, we put your needs first. We can do this because we are independent of hearing aid manufacturers and do not rely on sales commissions. As such, your hearing health is the driving factor behind everything we do.

Today’s post on the Hearing Services Program will cover the following:

  • What is the Hearing Services Program (HSP)?
  • What are the benefits of accessing HSP services through EarDeals?
  • What hearing aids are currently covered by the HSP?
  • How can you apply for the HSP and access subsidised hearing aids?

Access Subsidised Hearing Aids Through EarDeals

EarDeals supports eligible Pensioners and DVA cardholders wishing to access the fully subsidised hearing aids and hearing services through the Australian Governments Hearing Services Program

If you are found eligible for the Australian Hearing Services Program (HSP), EarDeals will provide you with high-quality, fully subsidised hearing aids at no additional cost.

Why should you choose to embarque on this journey with us? An estimated 80 percent of Australian hearing clinics are owned by hearing aid manufacturers. That means the pool of hearing aids you can choose from is extensive as long as you choose a provider with whom stocks and can fit multiple brands. EarDeals, however, is independent of hearing aid manufacturers and stocks many hearing aid brands all of which are amongst the largest hearing aid brands in the world, and that audiologists consider the best on the market. Your satisfaction is our number one priority, and we strive to give you the freedom to decide what hearing aids suit your needs and preferences best.

Tip: When it comes to deciding on a registered provider to purchase and fit your Government-funded hearing aids, take note of who is providing this service. It might be wise to directly ask what brands are available and whether or not the company fitting the device is owned by a hearing aid manufacturer. If your Audiologist has choice in brands they have great opportunities to address your hearing loss and lifestyle demands. Not all hearing aids on the Hearing service program are the same and as such choice has never been more important when considering what hearing aid features are ideal for your circumstances..

Fully Subsidised vs. Partially Subsidised Hearing Aids

If you are a Pensioner or eligible DVA cardholder, you can access a fully or partially subsidised hearing aid from the Australian Government. But what is the difference?

Fully Subsidised

Hearing Aids

Partially Subsidised

Hearing Aids

Fully subsidised hearing aids are generally lower software level hearing devices provided by the Australian Government under the Hearing Services Program. The pre-selected range of devices may include rechargeable and Bluetooth connected hearing aids, but this is not guaranteed, as the selection changes regularly.

The partially subsidised hearing aid option allows you to purchase a device that is not on the pre-selected fully subsidised list.

If you prefer a higher-level hearing aid than is through the Government Hearing Services Program, you will be given a voucher that can be used to purchase any hearing aid offered by EarDeals. You will only pay the difference out of pocket.

If you need help making the right choice, feel free to contact our hearing aid brokers – free of charge. Our team will assist you as you browse through the many hearing aid options available. Don’t hesitate and contact us online or give us a call on 1300 010 064.
